Built over the land of what was Atlanta’s civil war battlefield, Inman Park was created at the beginning of the 20th century by esteemed developer Joel Hurt, where he realized his vision to create a trolley neighborhood where Atlanta’s elite could live away from the bustle of Downtown Atlanta.
Coined as Atlanta’s first suburb, Inman Park has developed from a garden neighborhood dotted with Victorian mansions to a destination filled with restaurants, shops, and community events.
Inman park is conveniently located along the Beltline’s eastside trail and is home to picturesque Springvale park and Freedom park which provides direct access to Atlanta’s PATH trail system; all nearby from the Inman Park MARTA station. Also the Inman Park pool, home of the Belugas swim team, has been a neighborhood favorite since opening in 1999.
